Happy Birthday To Me!

Call me vain but today is my birthday and I just thought I would publish a post to celebrate my life. Happy Birthday to me!!

My birthday is always a momentous occasion celebrated with my loved ones. It is not so much about the gifts and the clich├ęd celebrations that come with birthdays, but more on the mark of renewed life every year. Surprisingly, the extra energy I attain on my birthday is just incredible. A binge of power and confidence takes over and I feel like I am reborn again.

I love to make my birthday a big deal like I just pamper myself, indulge in sinful foods, eat cake and most importantly celebrate being here and being at the center of attention with my loved ones.

The best advice I've got on my birthday is to take time for myself, get a new perspective on life and to relax and enjoy each and every moment that comes my way. So in this post, I thank everyone who spent part of their lifetime with me, had a positive influence in my life and those who helped shape me to be the person I am.

Age is just a number; it's about feeling young at mind. So here's to me celebrating another year of being me.

Dress Up: Color Love Affair in Chartreuse

It is always important to learn new things every day, so let me introduce you to what I picked up this weekend. I came across an uncharacteristic tag 'Chartreuse' and was so inquisitive to find details of what it exemplified. And then I became infatuated with it.

Chartreuse is a French word for a color description halfway between yellow and green termed due to its substantial resemblance to the French liqueur of green and yellow chartreuse. So I was thinking would you be daring enough to try this shade on you?

At first it seems nerdy to even think of making a fashion statement around this shade. But to begin experimenting further, you have to convince yourself that this is going to make you look urbane and hip at the same time. Next be open to the brightness and texture you have to carry off. Once your mind is convinced, the rest will fall into place.

Here is my way to flair this tone. How about a nice fitted cross-front bodice with a glamorous deep-V back sheath dress paired with high heeled chartreuse suede pumps for that degree of sophistication? Next wear some elegant metal faceted gem drop earrings with a heavy metal necklace as accessories that need no introduction. Finish it off with nail color of the same shade and a handy Givenchy metallic clutch. Dab on some plum red lipstick and suave eye shadow to complete a totally chic and royal ensemble for a wedding party or a night out with your girlfriends.

Try this new shade for the summer and enjoy your love affair with a trendy hue setting style.

Slim Down For Summer, The Healthy Way

So here it is the best season to show off your body is finally upon us. With the emergence of summer, get ready to sport your favorite attire on a sexy yet healthy body. But wait, there are no hard rules, just guilt free regimes to follow and I guarantee they are the healthiest way to slim down and lose all that excess weight.

Summer is all about fun and sun, but it is also about indulging in unhealthy foods like ice creams and cold beer. A little bit of self-discipline is what you need.
For me, looking good and feeling great is the essence of my spirited day. Here are some basic tricks to adopt to slim down and fit into some really cool summer outfits.

Junk food and sugary drinks out, fresh food in: Refrain from the cardinal sin of eating junk with huge intakes of sugary drinks to quench the thirst while adding unnecessary empty calories. Dread all those wasted calories from sweet coffee drinks, smoothies and over-sized sodas. Sacrifice for a better cause, keep it clean and fresh, just eat fresh fruit and drink lots of water. Avoid all that junk food that is so easily accessible and switch to dry fruits, a handful of nuts, a single serving of fat-free yogurt, an apple or at least a sugar free diet. For a start, open that refrigerator and get rid of all the fattening products you have in there. Make a list for the grocery store and pick up just what you need.

Skipping meals, a big no-no: In being strict with your diet, do not deprive yourself of eating, just to slim down. It is no shortcut and has adverse health effects that you really don’t want to have at this time. If you crave for something evil, try to minimize its calories by seeking healthy alternatives. Eating in small portions is a big plus and should include more regular meals in your day. Snack throughout the day, but never skip breakfast. Remember to always stay hydrated.

Sleep is necessary: Results show that people deprived of at least seven to eight hours of good sleep are more stressed and fidgety. To look your best, sleep is important.

Move your body:  Exercise is the best form of staying fit. Mentally and physically, it can do wonders to your gorgeous self. Go for a jog, play a sport, take a brisk walk or dance like there is no end, just get that body moving and results are all in the figure.

In conclusion, nothing I've mentioned above you do not already know. The question you need to ask yourself is, are you doing it right? If you are, trust me, it will show.  If not, no worries start now and turn you into a sexy attractive and healthy individual this summer. Good luck!

Spread Joy, Experience Happiness

The world we live in is entrepreneurial and despicable where more is merrier and big is better. We live to believe that happiness is about the glimmer and glamour of enticing thrills and envious paths. We are guilty of jumping from one sensation to the next in pursuit of joy. We spend our lives shopping, clubbing, partying, vacationing and are never tired of the same. What a good life we live? But is it really bringing us the joy and happiness that is celestial? Do we experience happiness in small bouts when there is so much more to attain? Absolutely, self-happiness is good but it isn't the real form of happiness that defines immense joy. Joy must be everlasting, not temporary and random.

Without a doubt, the pleasure you experience in the above ways of life is temporary. There is nothing long lasting about it. We work, earn and enjoy our life. We care less for our environment, even little for our loved ones and the least for the betterment of society. It is like being drunk with happiness and it is all over when you wake up. Then the whole spree begins again and we are wrapped in the futile cycle that goes on and on.

So where am I going with this? There is no harm in persuaded form of joy. There is no sin in trying to find happiness. All I am saying is to look beyond inception. To find delight in the spirit of distributing joy wherever it is hard to find, give a portion of joy to someone who has never experienced happiness lately. Joy is also found in executing the simplest act of love. Feed a hungry child, visit the old and abandoned or comfort the sick that joy is perpetual and that happiness is everlasting.

Buddha says we are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves. Spread love like your life depended on it. Random acts of kindness, random acts of love should be inculcated in us. It is a blissful path to lead with joy and happiness overflowing from our hearts. We must sequence our minds to care for others, to feel the pain and sentiment of the deprived and to be touched by the amount of misery we bring to others. We must mold our hearts and minds to experience the thrills of sharing, caring and giving.

Why would we want to live any other way than to be connected, embraced and loved? True and wholesome happiness is the kind of art or skill that can be mastered if we are willing to do so. Always remember the sufferings and obscurity in the world today and try to make a change, surely that is the best way is to spread joy and experience happiness.

Focal B&W Photography

Summer is the time of infinite fun. The day seems to last forever, and the fun never stops. It is a time of romance, excitement and an enhanced enjoyment of life. Somehow summer never seems to last long enough. It is always over before we get a chance to fully experience its power. This is true of all things wonderful. They always seem too short.

In the blistering heat of summer this year, the only solace I could find is to grab my camera and shoot some intricate yet attractive photography. This month, I will share on my blog some of my appealing shots with you. To begin the series, I have below shots in focal B&W.
