Fall In Love With Scarves

In times of blistering cold, very few of us women really draw out this quintessential accessory from our wardrobes to bundle up. The scarf is purely a winter wear with bursting hues and adorable prints, it can so easily transform the dull wintery air into a splash of warmth. It is necessary for a woman to own a few of these accessories in her closet. It can always uplift any drab outfit.Don't worry about getting tangled or flustered by layers, just look at it as a renewed fashion item that needs to be caressed and loved as much as a warm winter coat or snow boots even exclusively for that particular time of the year.

This fashion garment has been a favourite of my winter ensembles.Unfortunately I am not satisfied with the way I teem up and so looked high and low for suggestions and ideas for the season. Enlacing oneself in a scarf requires processed thought and styling. The truth in the matter lies in the fact that with a selection of scarf, you need to build your ensemble. From oversized knits to cape proportions to cable style, wearing your look is your style statement and don't hesitate to experiment with colors and prints and let your scarf do the style talking.

Here are a few must have suggestions I would like to share with you.

Exotic Animal prints decorated on a sheer scarf styled with subtle fringed edge is perfect to begin your collection. Animal prints lend an exotic aesthetic to chiffon or sheer scarfs that can paired against plain tees or tops.

Knitted Infinity Scarf is another must have that adds layers and provides much needed warmth with a sense of softness and style. These chic scarves are wrapped over coats and sweaters to increase the warmth quotient leaving you feeling snug and warm.If you have sometime this winter, why don't you make your own cable knit infinity scarf that really requires no serious knitting skills.

Geometric Prints
Soft, lightweight gauze in a geometric print and solid border in bright hues are also a must have. These can be teemed with casuals and even worn around early spring. Different patters work great together and there are so many ways to drape them.

So this winter season, if there is a new accessory that you must buy, take a look at some scarves and purchase in a few that will serve to keep you warm and snug while making you look gorgeous at the same time.

A Whole Grain Diet.

Whole grains should be included as part of every body's staple diet. A whole grain is a cereal grain with the germ, endosperm and bran all inclusive. It is a good practice to eat more whole grains in your regular diet as they are packed with nutrients like protein, fibre, antioxidants among others. For the diet and health conscious people, you must have already made the adjustment to incorporate whole wheat bread instead of white bread or even brown rice instead or white rice. Good for you! You already know the benefits of doing this. For those who still cannot come to terms with the compromise, remember it is essentially what your body is directing you to include in your diet and it is not so hard to transform to a better lifestyle.

For pasta lovers, there is now a wide variety of whole wheat pasta that you can get. Eat whole grains in the form of oat flour or wheat flour wherever possible.Ideally, you should be reading your content label to identify these secret health gems that help you grow. For example, you should be identifying ingredients like quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat, whole oats, rolled oats, oatmeal, millet etc. in the nutrition's label. If it is missing any whole grain ingredient, you shouldn't be needing that product. Remember, 'multi-grain' or 'stone ground' for instance is not whole grain.

The fibre and nutrients associated with whole grains make them an essential part of a healthy diet for young and old. At first, it can be complex to work them in your family's diet on a regular basis, but persevere. The rewards are plenty. Even small substitutes like whole wheat bread crumbs instead of white bread crumbs goes a long way in constituting a balanced healthy diet.

For all those pondering about recipes to create with whole grains, here are some delicious whole grain recipes from cookinglight.com that I request you to give it a try and add that bit of healthy nutrition in your weekly diet.

Beauty is to A Woman As Success is to A Man

It in't uncommon for a women to find herself questioning her beauty while men are always on the surge to be deemed successful. If you are observant and encounter men and women in this category, you may wonder what gets them so involved with semi-lunatic obsessions like beauty and success. Well, the answer is illiberal, stupid and disgraceful but nonetheless factual worries to satisfy a mindset of illogical references. There is no denying it, people above twenty are self obsessed with two things - the males with success and the females with beauty.

This one dimension generation of people are on a separate zone in this world. They balance the world on their shoulders but are more worried about popularity, status and being liked and appreciated by all. It is fed from social media and mass media where everyone is trying to defeat the other under these circumstances. Women always want to outshine and men always want to make more money. When it is done in moderation, it is acceptable to a certain degree. I am only referring to the section of people that go over board because they are the ones that need to get their life together and appreciate the bigger things that life offers them.

As a woman ages, appearing beautiful becomes her prime importance and her expenditure on beauty products steadily increases to satisfy a gloating ego to match celebrities and trend setters. Why are women so insecure about their looks? Why is there a booming cosmetic industry in every country whether rich or poor? Are we instilling fiendish cosmopolitan thoughts in our minds? The answer is simple, women are forced to reckon that beauty attracts, seduces and recreates prosperity in their life. Being beautiful means getting the work done faster, creating some sort of envy among peers, survival in a world that recognizes beautiful women far more than the ordinary and so ultimately spending a big bucks to look beautiful is a small price to pay for the rewards women pursue.

The pursuit of success for men makes them more disgruntle and lucrative.Men are afflicted in the mind to decipher success as the instrument for endurance, always looking to gain power and rule with success. Hence, men are involved in chasing success to earn more money, make it big and flaunt it needlessly among friends, family or peers. Pride is consequential, prestige is a requisite and success will be sucked out of the living earth. Right or wrong, it is important to be successful and thus mark your territory as one more rich in a world that ignores the poor. This is the kind of mindset that drives a man to indulge in dissonance with one self and thus lack recognition of his own soul. The definition of success should be quantifiable and acceptable to a certain degree. Beyond which it will ruin a man's self respect and dignity.

While we are busy chasing beauty and success, our demeanour is distorted and our minds flexed toward depression. We lose our morales and principles and begin to destroy anyone in our way. From the newspapers to media to social network, not a day passes without recognition of successful men and beautiful women. It is time that we realize our insignificant ambitions and stop behaving like insolent adults. There is always a sanity in finding balance in something, the problems occur when we fail to look beyond the substantial requirement from the focal point of success and beauty.

14 Non-Dairy Foods That Are High in Calcium

One of the most essential element required for the development and maintenance of strong bones and teeth, is the mineral Calcium (CA). Found abundantly in  dairy products, it can also be found extensively in vegetables like Kale, broccoli, cabbage and in grains and cereals.

When total intakes from food and supplements are considered, many people particularly adolescent girls fall short in the requirement. Here is a nice article to read for all those who don't eat dairy. You just need to take a closer look and know where to find this essential mineral and what foods you need to be eating regularly.

Dress Up: Fall Fashion Outfit

Sweet September is here and that is the season of Fall. So as we bid adieu to our sarongs and sundresses, its time to start layering and what better way to proceed than grabbing hold of the knits, scarves and booties all trending this great season.

With the temperatures dropping outside, the warmth is vital. I would recommend to shop a little, take a peek online or at the mall to identify the latest autumn/winter collections that are in stores this year.

In no particular order, here are my seasonal favorites that I recommend you try around this time of the year.

I kick start this season with a very basic approach that works well for any budget.

An over sized sweater is a good pairing for those cold windy days that are going to surface. Available in shades of tan/brown, my favorite is this strong coffee cable soft knit that is sort of baggy and free and can be worn over a simple tee or tank without too much fuss.

No fall season is complete without some awesome boots and my choice for this year is the block heel round toe leather or mink boots that matches well with skinny jeans. To complete the classic fall look, aviators are perfect to balance your tones.

For accessories, keep it simple with a classic scarf  and I know what every modish soul will swear by this season, it is the animal print scarf. So bold yet delicate as it sits wrapped snugly around your neck. The only other accessory you need is an extempore bag to complete this look.

Simple and elegantly choreographed in a matter of seconds for you to kick start this wonderful season.Watch my blog for more ideas coming this season.

Cleanse Your Mind. Free yourself.

A clean and refreshing mindset is the beginning of unleashing the extensive good and power within us. Knowingly or unknowingly, we face restrictions in our path of growth mainly caused by a curbed buildout of mind, body and spirit.

“Man is not a circle with a single center; he is an ellipse with two focii. Facts are one, ideas are the other.”

― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

Everybody wants positivity to flourish within. The stepping stone to achieving positive energy is to be a recipient of positive charge on the mind. But the environment we live in is always wavering negative and positive charge that can adversely reveal the course of growth for our minds. Increased societal norms and the ever spinning success chase drives us insane. Keeping ourselves in check with who we are, what we think and want to achieve in life is inconclusive for the mind to elucidate, especially when we think irrational thoughts, lose trust in ourselves or even when we judge too quickly.

It is discernible that humans develop ideas and exercise free will. That is the autonomy that we have within us. But the effects of that kind of power influences our minds to expand an ego. An ego is just the psyche of an idea influenced largely by the relation to the world around us. When one gets obsessed with an idea, it uncharacteristically converts into negative influences  that thrive in the mind to discriminate, to hate and to judge unfairly.

It is hard to understand the moment when the mind is subjugated by our ignominious ideas, and to subsequently let go of the negative charges that invite us to poison our mind. That is the moment of weakness that we need to restrict in our lives. Begin to reconnect with the perfect, kind and loving energy that is part of your being and gradually there will be no room to disrupt the mind.

Here are few ways to establish an open mindset.

1. Dispose Ego : The poison within needs to die out. Never let your conscience be governed by your surroundings. Ego is the worst ailment for the mind. It obscures your thinking and makes you look boastful and stupid. Always be sensitive to another's feelings before you think of your own. The act of being selfless is the step to dispose the ego within.

2. Meditate : By meditating, the mind is treated to some relaxation and much deserved rest. When the mind is calm, the decisions of life seem easy to handle. When you meditate, you often maintain a balance in your life that revitalizes, empowers and helps you heal.

3. Trust yourself : Always remember the meaning of your life. You may not be the best right now, but you can always better yourself. Bitter experiences often make us shun the same path, but learn to trust yourself. You learn from the mistakes of your past and find meaning in each lesson learned.

4. Practice the art of silence : In the hustle and bustle of the world we live in, silence is such a necessity. From electronic gadgets, to insensitive talk, all have unpropitious effects on the mind that relate to stressing it out to a point of anxiety. A moment of silence in a day is hard to find, but understand that only you have the power to soothe and relax your mind, and that can only be done when you find that moment of silence.

5. Have Hope : Losing hope is inevitable especially when life is full of challenges. While discovering your path it is not uncommon to lose hope, feel less motivated and discouraged. The easy way out is to distract your mind and engage in bad habits. That is the sign of weakness and the beginning of diverting your path. Stay alert, have hope, it will never let you down.

Once your mindset changes, the way you perceive the world and yourself changes. The truth of the matter lies in training your mind to discard the bad and swallow the good.

Give this one a try and find satisfaction serving a healthier option to your loved ones.

Ingredients
3 large zucchinis
2 tablespoons olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

Method

Using a peeler, peel stripes along the outside of the zucchini, lengthwise, spacing the stripes evenly. Then, slice the zucchini into quarter inch thick slices.
Toss the slices into a bowl and coat with olive oil.
In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
When ready to bake, coat each zucchini slice in the dry ingredients, coating both sides.
Place on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, until browned and crisp.

Why does everyone look hotter in sunglasses?

Waking up to another relaxing Sunday and as usual picked up my smartphone with a cup of hot coffee to read this article. The steamy coffee required some piping hot tip and this article on why we turn anonymous wearing sunglasses helped.

Science of Us attempts to unravel the answers to a summertime question of monumental importance: Why does nearly everyone instantly look more attractive with sunglasses on?

Like me,I am sure you agree with the author on how essentially casual and obviously hot you become if you wear on a pair of shades. Read more here.

Retrospect this August and Live Better

August, the eighth month of the year is already here and I wonder if it is just me totally surprised by its arrival. At the start of the year, I never made any resolutions or concrete plans. This was going to be a year of retrospect and self discovery. I wanted to take the time to get to know myself, my likes and dislikes, my passions and interests and scrutinize the possibility of surging into a new and improved me.

I have come to realize that life is a journey and no matter how hard you want to mend the blemishes and disagreements of the past, the future is the only way to reprieve. Stimulating oneself to dispose bad habits and renew that inner strength is an ongoing process. But the realization of wanting to transpose the negatives to positives should be immediate. For me, the discovery of myself over the past seven months of the year has altered my thinking, my self reclamations and my passion to succeed. I have mellowed down in persona and more importantly I stopped chasing success. An instantaneous credibility is associated to my character. I think I have finally found the equanimity in my life.

As a youth of this generation, there is constant need to impress and succeed to indispensable measures. But in doing so, we are simply losing the connectivity with ourselves. Our minds are conditioned to focus on money, possessions and worldly riches. The characteristics we build in the interim are distorted and dysfunctional. I have realised that chasing success is not proportional to achieving dreams. Dreams are paths of direction you wish to take. The nightmares are in the hurdles of getting there. But life teaches you to advance. To look beyond scope and predicament, to stop planning and start living.

We have learnt that achievement is not static, it has to be sought after in any field. Ambitions and goals are good, provided they do not seem surreal or unrealistic for your needs. While most of us are sucked up in a 9-5 environment, others are over working and over doing what should already be done by creating deadline principles. Every passing day you chase success losing out on life itself. Work hard, strive to achieve goals with a sense of practicality. There is no need to rush, stress or disintegrate. Life has so much to offer and that is only witnessed when you are content with yourself.

Whenever life stabilizes and you sense that you are at peace and calm with yourself and eventually you feel that there is no hunger to outdo or over perform, pause and take a moment. I tell you my readers, that is the time for you to take a step back, to sober down and reflect. Aging is inevitable so we got to think about our life and its dwelling. Happiness is a direct result of the way we live everyday.

My advice to you in this eight month of the year is to retrospect and find the zen in your life. Discovery is important as you grow older never refrain from knowing that the mistakes you made yesterday have only made you a better human being today. Nothing we make in this world can be taken to our grave. So live your life in modesty, in truthfulness, compassion and understanding to your needs and the needs of others. Retrospect for a better life.
